Independence is not dependent on bombs bursting in air.
 
Independence was a hard-fought battle in 1776, but the war rages on even today.
 
As we remember the sacrifices made for our country to be free of the oppression of the king, I can't help but think about the constant battle for independence.
 
So often, it is taken for granted, but each decision we make will feed independence or dependence.
 
Which do you choose?
 
Dependence or independence?
 
If you are reading this, I assume you choose independence. My experience is that you, members of Hoosier for Medical Liberty, take the opportunities to preserve your medical liberties along with the thousands of others we are able to connect with.
 
Independence is not guaranteed; recent history has shown us that.
 
During COVID we watched as our rights and freedoms were stripped away in the name of safety.
 
Hoosiers were told to "stay home stay safe," your businesses, places of worship, schools, jobs, support systems, and way of life were shut down.
 
Hoosiers were bullied into wearing masks and "social distancing." You were herded like cattle through grocery stores and made to fear your neighbors, friends, and family.
 
Your loved ones slipped into deep depression, killed by covid protocols, and others died alone and scared.
 
The wounds of COVID are still present.  Depression, substance abuse, psychological damage, educational setbacks, and financial ruin fester in silence. The vaccine-injured are struggling to find a way to merely survive.
 
New wounds are breaking open as the truth comes to light, most recently silent burning in the hearts of mothers who were victim to "miscarriage" after their vaccinations. Private torment they cannot escape due to betrayal by the medical system and even the responsibility they themselves played in the loss of the child they long for but will never meet.
 
These wounds and so much more are lost in the name of safety and science.
 
Bombs, bullets, and bayonets are not safe. Yet that is what our forefathers faced as they fought for our liberty.
 
Today, the threats of tyranny and oppression look different. They come in the form of safety, the greater good, equity, materialism, distraction, vanity, and even political correctness.
 
As you celebrate our independence, please take a moment to talk with your fellow Hoosiers about how we will take on these threats. They are not waiting; they are ever present.
 
We must start having conversations with our communities about these threats and how each of us will do our part in the ongoing war for independence and LIBERTY.
