What is Organizational Day?
Organization Day is annually held in November and gives lawmakers a chance to gather at the state house in order to prepare for the upcoming legislative season.
This year is UNIQUE...
I feel like that statement is over used; but it is unique.
The Indiana General Assembly (IGA, meaning the Senate and House) are still in session. Todd Houston & Rodric Bray, Speaker of the House & Senate Pro Temp respectively, did not close the 2021 session yet.
So what does that mean?
In all actuality, they could gather on Organizational Day end the state of emergency and pass protective legislation for Hoosiers.
This would take brave legislators speaking up against leadership, demanding the rules be waived, and presenting legislation.
History shows us the likelihood of this happening is low... BUT WE MUST CHANGE HISTORY!
Holcomb has continued his state of emergency for the 20th time and Biden's mandates are so egregious I don't feel like we have any other option but to push the IGA to take action.
