1. Do not panic.
- Gather information. Ask pointed questions. Say only what is necessary. Do not argue or over-explain- treat this like a deposition. Request the policy be emailed to you.
- ALL COMMUNICATIONS need to be backed up in writing. If they refuse to do so, you may send a follow up email to "confirm you are understanding what is being asked of you and the policy."
- Keep your religious exemption about your personal beliefs. Do not mention science. This is critical.
- Do not make a commitment to get a vaccine or submit to masking/eye protection. You may make a statement like "I am not refusing to complete my duties. I have submitted my religious exemption."
- If pressed to comply, respond with a statement regarding religious discrimination, "I feel as though you and parkview are discriminating against me based on my religious beliefs." You may add that "There is no current outbreak, the mask/eye wear is punishment for standing with my religious beliefs. I feel as though I am being manipulated with the threat of my job to abandon my religion."
3. Stand your ground.
- Stand firm, seek help if needed. Reach out if needed 260-267-0098
